Holy Harvest!

A picture of just some of the squash and peppers harvested from the garden. We have also been getting green onions, stumpy carrots and the cucmbers are just starting to come up.

I feel like we have done really well with our garden this summer and are still hoping to get some more goodies. If anyone wants some squash let me know!

I love my Dog

I can't remember if I posted about this when it happened months ago, but we were attacked by a dog while walking sweet Willie. Again tonight the same dog charged at us. We yelled at said dog and detered it before it got to Willie. It charged us again, three times in total.

Finally the adult owner leisurely came to get the dog that his kids could not control. He had a few words and then went on to call the cops on US!! Yep! He did.

When we called the cops they came to our house, apparently they had been waiting for us to call to find us. The dog owner was worried that we were going to come and kill their dog. He was scared.

I would never hurt an animal unless it hurt me (or my dog) first. It would be an act of self defense only.

I cannot believe in all the laws in the world, animals that have a history of violence towards other animals are allowed to continue to freely run around the neighborhood. I just don't think it is right.

I am not sure what to do about it but stew. I have to say that it did help me get my heart pumping on my walk, I was VERY mad and scared at the same time.

Monday Quote

You get over having your appendix out, but when you've lost your leg, you limp the rest of your life"

~CS Lewis

I am reading a book by Abby Rike called Working It Out. If you aren't famililar, Abby was a contestant on the Biggest Loser. She was quite memorable to me because she had been through the loss of her family. Before she was on the show her husband, daughter and newborn son were killed instantly in a car accident. I could not understand how anyone could live through that pain. I know that I have felt pain and reading about hers, we are so similar. I found comfort in reading this book. It was the first book that I felt like the author had lived through something similar to what I have been through and am going through.
I have tried to remain tough, but I still have rough times. Like tonight, I think I have cried about 20 times, about nothing really. I don't know why it gets to me sometimes. It just does.

Anyway, it is a good book and this is just one of the quotes I found in reading it.
